GUYS.

GUYSSSSS.

If you know me, you know that I am a huge fan of E! Networks and everything the NBC Universal company produces.  In my opinion, E! is one of the only places to work where you still have to stick to what you learned in journalism school.  They care about how entertainment news is told, shared, filmed, and created.  Whether you are a fan of the Kardashians or not, “E! News” is the mecca of “Making culture pop”– just as it says in their tagline.

(Scroll down for the VO if it isn’t already playing– Read below for how this amazing opportunity came to life!)

SO.

For the past year or so, I’ve been doing my best to get my work to the right people in the building. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Lucky for me, I was chosen as one of the talented hosts to study under agent Marki Costello in a workshop given by the American Black Film Festival and NBC.  It’s one of the best opportunities around.  Stay tuned to this site for more details for next year.

Long story short, I was selected to have a meeting with the producers in LA.  There were no openings at the time but when I went out there on vacation, I made sure to let them know that I was available to do freelance opportunities as well.

Next thing you know, it’s Wednesday and I’m at Jeezy’s listening party in NYC. I get an email from the producer. He says he needs someone to fill in for a talent. I’m like “YES.”  I got on a flight to LA and prayed that God would allow me to everyone just how much I could do with my voiceover work, with the gifts HE ultimately gave me.

MAN. MAAAAAAAN. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, can tell me that hard work, determination, and a whole lot of faith, won’t pay off.  It will. This is only the beginning.  Thank you again to everyone who helped me, including my mom, sissies Manecha Guillame, Brittany O’Garro, Chi Chi Ude, and my friend O’Neal for forcing me to get on a plane.

Keep friends around you who know what you want for yourself, even when you are scared to do it.

Here’s the first one I did!
